About Lactation Consultants

  • What Is a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)?

IBCLC’s, or International Board Certified Lactation Consultants, function and contribute as members of the maternal-child health team. We can provide care in variety of settings, and make referrals to other health professionals and community resources. IBCLC’s have underwent many hours of classes and training, to be able to provide expert breastfeeding and lactation care.

  • What can a lactation consultant do for me?

An IBCLC can help families meet their feeding goals. We can start working with you while pregnant, and after your little one has joined the world. We educate, empower, assist, and support your feeding goals.

Jessica was very knowledgeable and helped me when I just could not get my baby to latch. She provided a relaxed and comfortable environment where she worked with me and my baby until we found a solution that allowed me to breastfeed my baby. From the moment you walk into her office you can feel her warmth and the passion she has for what she does. And even in the days following our appointment she checked up on us multiple times to see how breastfeeding was going and to provide help if we needed it. I would recommend Jessica to anyone who is having difficulty breastfeeding their baby.
